Have you watched any of the new Netflix series – Santa Clarita Diet? I have, and it’s absolutely brilliant.
It features Drew Barrymore as an average American mother, who suddenly starts craving human flesh. It’s fantastic, and I love it’s light, breezy air, and the way her family deals with her new ‘condition’.
Today I’ve decided to branch out into drinks, something I haven’t written about on my little new blog yet. Since I’m trying to be healthier (she says fully planning to post a milkshake recipe too) I thought Sheila’s morning body parts smoothie in Episode Four would be a great thing to try. Obviously this 100% DOES NOT involve any uncooked meat, or body parts, or…any meat at all for that matter. But it is still delicious, and you can always pretend.
Please don’t kill your neighbours. Continue reading “Not My Neighbour Smoothie – A Santa Clarita Diet Recipe”
I’ve tried writing this post a couple of times now, and just cannot seem to get it quite right. This is just a small, hopefully short, post in which I’ll try to sum up some of my aims and plans for ‘The Glass Doubloon’, just so you can see what’s going on.
I will obviously continue to create, and write about TV and Film food. I absolutely love it, and I don’t think you’ll ever find a plain recipe on here, I aim to always add some of my illustrative, creative flair, to make this blog unlike most other ‘health’ or ‘veggie’ websites out there. My aim is to inject some actual fun into veggie food, rather than listing the apparent eighty-five benefits of a handful of spinach, I aim to display the sheer amount of enjoyment you can have eating veggie. This is probably one of my all-time favourite lines from the Harry Potter movies, and I’ve always wanted to make some creepy Leaky Cauldron-worthy soup. So because I can blog about it, I decided to give it a go!
Harry’s journey on the Knight Bus is absolutely brilliant, I mean it’s a magical purple bus with a careless attendee and a talking shrunken head! As well as a fast old man driver. I think it’s one of the coolest sets in all of the movies, and always looked over – but look at how many beds they fit in there – so many!
I also want to add a little disclaimer – I won’t be posting a bread recipe, so use whichever white or wholewheat recipe you like the best to make the tentacles. I’m not good at making bread, pretty much every attempt fails, so just follow my sculpting advice, not my actual bread *face palm*. I can’t make bread, it’s a well-known fact ok?
You’re going to want to pop your oven on to whatever temperature is on your bread recipe to start with, and you’ll need a blender. I used nifty stick blender, but a NutriBullet, or some sort of smoothie/soup maker will work. Continue reading ““Eat it before it eats you” Soup – A Wizarding Wold Recipe”
This here is a brand new blog, so please, bare with whilst I get everything in tip-top order and sorted out just how I want it. I decided it was time for some change, and have chosen to experiment with WordPress, as this is a blog format I can see myself supporting for some time. It’s much more photography friendly, less ‘wordy’ if you will? So whilst I’m feeling inspired and have a few days off between switching jobs, I know, it’s all very exciting, and a bit nerve-wracking if you ask me. I thought I’d have a go at re-vamping the blog, ready for 2017 – little did I know it would involve setting up a brand new one – Oops?
Anyway, I’ve been incredibly inspired by the Wizarding World recently, what with the release of the brilliant ‘Fantastic Beasts and where to find them’, and the classic Christmas Harry Potter repeats on TV. I ask you dear reader, how could I not be inspired.
I am currently conjuring up something involving some creepy pea soup *nudge nudge*, but for now, I’m trying to use up some of those pesky Christmas leftovers. I made this pasta tonight, and had Harry in mind, and viola, Polyjuice Potion Pasta was born! It looks gross, but tastes so creamy, decadent and divine, you’ll never go to real cream again.
