Ever since watching the movie ‘Chef’ in the cinema upon its release, I’ve been obsessed with El Jefe’s garlic pasta.
The specific pasta I’m talking about, is the pasta Carl makes for Molly in his apartment. It’s such an amazing scene, and for someone like me, who is all about food and flavour, it was instantly intriguing. Somehow it manages to be a really sensual scene, the sounds, the pictures, the attentiveness is just perfect. It’s probably one of my favourite scenes in the entire movie!
So I decided to give Carl’s Pasta Aglio e Olio a go, and see what would happen – it’s freaking delicious!!
This is enough to make one portion, so double, triple etc. for each person at your table. I’m also not up for portioning your pasta, cook however much you fancy for yourself. I trust you. If you’re not vegan, or vegetarian you could put Parmesan in this too…or if you’re vegetarian, you could add some veggie form of Italian hard cheese. This is probably one of my all-time favourite lines from the Harry Potter movies, and I’ve always wanted to make some creepy Leaky Cauldron-worthy soup. So because I can blog about it, I decided to give it a go!
Harry’s journey on the Knight Bus is absolutely brilliant, I mean it’s a magical purple bus with a careless attendee and a talking shrunken head! As well as a fast old man driver. I think it’s one of the coolest sets in all of the movies, and always looked over – but look at how many beds they fit in there – so many!
I also want to add a little disclaimer – I won’t be posting a bread recipe, so use whichever white or wholewheat recipe you like the best to make the tentacles. I’m not good at making bread, pretty much every attempt fails, so just follow my sculpting advice, not my actual bread *face palm*. I can’t make bread, it’s a well-known fact ok?
You’re going to want to pop your oven on to whatever temperature is on your bread recipe to start with, and you’ll need a blender. I used nifty stick blender, but a NutriBullet, or some sort of smoothie/soup maker will work. Continue reading ““Eat it before it eats you” Soup – A Wizarding Wold Recipe”
This here is a brand new blog, so please, bare with whilst I get everything in tip-top order and sorted out just how I want it. I decided it was time for some change, and have chosen to experiment with WordPress, as this is a blog format I can see myself supporting for some time. It’s much more photography friendly, less ‘wordy’ if you will? So whilst I’m feeling inspired and have a few days off between switching jobs, I know, it’s all very exciting, and a bit nerve-wracking if you ask me. I thought I’d have a go at re-vamping the blog, ready for 2017 – little did I know it would involve setting up a brand new one – Oops?
Anyway, I’ve been incredibly inspired by the Wizarding World recently, what with the release of the brilliant ‘Fantastic Beasts and where to find them’, and the classic Christmas Harry Potter repeats on TV. I ask you dear reader, how could I not be inspired.
I am currently conjuring up something involving some creepy pea soup *nudge nudge*, but for now, I’m trying to use up some of those pesky Christmas leftovers. I made this pasta tonight, and had Harry in mind, and viola, Polyjuice Potion Pasta was born! It looks gross, but tastes so creamy, decadent and divine, you’ll never go to real cream again.
